Figuring out which service to order is fairly easy:

How many extensions do you need?

How many incoming numbers, including toll-free?

Net-Voice Premium [$49 per month + DID* and calling charges] will handle up to four extensions and two inbound numbers.

Net-Voice Professional [$79 per month + DID* and calling charges] is for five to 10 extensions and up to four inbound numbers.

Net-Voice Professional Plus [$129 per month + DID* and calling charges] handles 11-20 extensions and up to 10 inbound numbers.

Net-Voice Custom [please contact us for special situations or more than 20 extensions]

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Existing Numbers: we can usually move these over to your new service. There is a charge associated with this usually around $15 to $20 per number, depending upon the current carrier. "Porting" an existing number can take up to four weeks to happen; this is beyond our control.

* Lines, Numbers, and Calling [Inbound}: the easiest VoIP concept to grasp is that of incoming number, also known as DID - which is just that, a number you give to your contacts that will ring designated extensions/phones. A huge point of difference is that with most of our inbound numbers you will get more than one "line" - if you are talking on a call you received on an inbound number and another call comes in on that same number, it will either go where directed by your hunt group(s) or eventually end up in voicemail. The line will not usually ring busy.

Lines, Numbers, and Calling [Outbound]: as long as you have a "vacant" button on your phone [with no call parked/held] then you should be able to place an outbound or intercom call. We have no unlimited outbound service, all outbound US lower 48 and Canada calling is billed at a rate of $0.014 per minute (that's one-and-four-tenthsf cents per minute), 30 seconds minimum charge and 6 second increments thereafter. There is no differentiation between local and long-distance calling. Some representative international rates: UK, France, Germany $0.02 per minute. Download a current rate sheet here.

Your Bandwidth [Speed and Quality of Your Internet Connection]: is what effectively limits how many conversations can go on at one time. Please don't try to handle 10 extensions and 10 simultaneous conversations on an entry-level DSL line because you will be very disappointed.

Equipment: most newer VoIP telephones will work on our system, as will many soft-phones (software-based telephones). You can start with just a bunch of PCs and headsets running the freely available X-Lite (or Twinkle or equivalent on the Linux side) and over time bring in the real phones. Or not, the choice is yours - the system is loaded with features no matter how you connect to it. Contact us if you want more specific phone manufacturer recommendations.

General Comments: if you have never used VoIP for telephone service you are hopefully in for a treat. Your costs will be dramatically reduced, particularly if your normal calling includes lots of "long distance" numbers, and you also gain enormous functionality with your phones. You can expand and contract this system at will and there are no contracts to sign whatsoever.
